Thyroid
Also known as: TgAb, Thyroglobulin Autoantibodies
No common urgent flag from this test alone
This test checks how much thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb) are in your blood. These antibodies are proteins made by your body's defense system. They can sometimes wrongly attack your thyroid gland.
Your doctor orders this test to help find out if you have certain immune system problems that affect your thyroid gland. One example is Hashimoto's disease. The test also helps your doctor check on you after you've been treated for thyroid cancer.
Reference ranges for Thyroglobulin Antibody (TgAb) can vary by laboratory. It is important to discuss your specific results with your doctor for proper interpretation.
