This test checks how much carbamazepine is in your blood. Carbamazepine is a medicine. It helps with seizures. It also helps with big mood changes in bipolar disorder. It can also treat some kinds of nerve pain.

Why It's Ordered

Your doctor orders this test to check the amount of carbamazepine in your blood. We want to make sure you have enough medicine to help you. But we also want to make sure you don't have too much. Too much medicine could cause problems.
